The Chief of Dambai, Nana Beyennor II, on 15th October 2019 donated items to Dambai College of Education in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region.
The items which comprised bags of cement and tubers of yams were received by the Principal of the College in the presence of Staff and the 2019/2020 SRC Executives.
In his address, Nana Beyennor II was pleased with the support the College is giving to Dambai community and its surrounding towns by producing competent and dedicated teachers that feed the basic schools in the Municipality.
The respected Chief informed the gathering that since the College is in his Traditional area of jurisdiction, it is necessary he visits the College and support them with the items to help address some of College’s needs. He added that such donations have always been done during the tenure of past Principals of the College.
Nana Beyennor II called on all Staff, students and other stakeholders to give the new Principal the maximum support and cooperation to achieve the set goals of the College. He admonished the College management and Staff to be united.
In another development, the Hon. Member of Parliament for Krachi East Constituency, Hon. Michael Yaw Gyato also donated 17 electric poles and 30 LED street lights to the College, these items were delivered on his behalf by Mr. Frank Awuah.
The Principal of the College, Mrs. Benedicta Awusi Atiku, received the items on behalf of the College Council, Staff and students. She expressed her gratitude to the Nana, The Chonke Traditional Council and the entire Dambai community. ‘’I can say on Authority that ever since I assume office as the Principal of the College, Nana never seized to advise and encourage me on issues of the colllege’’. She was highly impressed and shared with the gathering how the Hon. MP, Michael Yaw Gyato, who is also an old student has been supporting the College in diverse ways in the areas of water, sanitation, security and many more. Mrs. Atiku promised that the items would be put to good use. She promised to lead the College to produce competent teachers to serve the catchment areas and beyond.
