DEPARTMENT OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

The department of Social Science is a core department in the College. The department is made up of three units – Social Studies, Religious and Moral Education (RME), and Music and Dance. The department contributes to training competent from Dambai College of Education for basic School teachers Ghana. The department offers core courses in Social Studies including Ghana as a nation, foundations of Social Studies HIV/AIDS education, Principles and methods of teaching Social Studies. At first year, RME and Music and Dance are offered as core courses. In second year, these courses become elective for students. The department boasts of high quality staff. The excellent performance of students in every semester in the University of Cape Coast (UCC) end of semester examinations makes it arguably the best performing department in the college. The department continues to put in place policies and measures that will ensure even a greater output or performance in future.
