DAMBAI COLLEGE OF EDUCATION GRADUATES FIRST BATCH OF B.Ed. SANDWICH STUDENTS
The first batch of sandwich students who enrolled for the one year B.Ed. top-up programme at Dambai College of Education have completed their course successfully. The 2019/2020 academic year top-up programme, which was run based on the new B.Ed. curriculum, came to an end in August, 2020.
The aim of introducing the one year top-up programme was to enable in-service teachers upgrade their professional credentials to at least a first degree level in order to achieve greater parity across the Ghanaian educational system.
The top-up course is also geared towards equipping in-service teachers with strong foundation regarding the modern approaches which are being introduced in the Ghanaian education system to ensure competence against the National Teaching Standards and improved outcomes for student teachers and the pupils they will teach.
As a result, seventy – one (71) in-service teachers enrolled at Dambai College of Education in July 2019 to undertake the one year B.Ed. top-up programme by sandwich in Early Grade Education and Junior High School Education, which they have all completed successfully.
It is worth noting that Dambai College of Education, an affiliate college of the University for Development Studies is the first tertiary institution to train and graduate sandwich students on the one year top-up programme, based on the new B.Ed curriculum.
Therefore, the College Management is extremely grateful to all stakeholders; especially, the staff who rendered their support to ensure that the programme was implemented successfully. Thank you all for being part of this milestone chalked by Mother DACE.
On behalf of the College Council, the Principal, Dr. Mrs. Benedicta Awusi Atiku and the entire College Management extend their warmest congratulation to all the graduating students.
