Dambai College of Education is a Public Tertiary Teacher Institution located in the Oti region of the Republic of Ghana. The College invites applications from suitably qualified and interested persons to fill the following vacancies:
A. LECTURERS
Lecturers are needed in the following areas:
- Education Studies – Guidance and Counselling
- Ghanaian Language (Twi)
- History
- Mathematics
- Home Economics
- Biology
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching
- Setting and marking of assignments and examination questions
- Invigilation of examinations
- Supervision of students on Supported Teaching in Schools (STS)
- Supervision of students’ projects
- Research and publications
- Assisting in administration of departments
- Extension work/service to the College and the nation
- Any other related duties assigned by the Principal or his/her Representative.
1. EDUCATION STUDIES – GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING Qualification and Experience Required
An applicant must hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.), a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Guidance and Counselling. Applicant must have at least three years Teaching experience in teaching at the tertiary institution or a recognised institution. Applicants on Ph.D. programme may be considered. Teacher Education Certificate or PGDE is compulsory.
2.GHANAIAN LANGUAGE (TWI)
Qualification and Experience Required:
An applicant must hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.), a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Ghanaian Language (Twi). Applicant must have at least three years Teaching experience in teaching at the tertiary institution or a recognised institution. Applicants on Ph.D. programme may be considered. Teacher Education Certificate or PGDE is compulsory.
3. HISTORY Qualification and Experience Required
An applicant must hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.), a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) and a Bachelor’s Degree in History. Applicant must have at least three years Teaching experience in teaching at the tertiary institution or a recognised institution. Applicants on Ph.D. programme may be considered. 4. MATHEMATICS
Qualification and Experience Required:
An applicant must hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.), a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. Applicant must have at least three years Teaching experience in teaching at the tertiary institution or a recognised institution. Applicants on Ph.D. programme may be considered. Teacher Education Certificate or PGDE is compulsory.
5. BIOLOGY
Qualification and Experience Required:
An applicant must hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.), a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Applicant must have at least three years Teaching experience in teaching at the tertiary institution or a recognised institution. Applicants on Ph.D. programme may be considered. Teacher Education Certificate or PGDE is compulsory.
6. HOME ECONOMICS
Qualification and Experience Required:
An applicant must hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.), a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics (Applicants with Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics _Catering or Food and Nutrition and Clothing and Textiles will have an added advantage). Applicant must have at least three years Teaching experience in teaching at the tertiary institution or a recognised institution. Applicants on Ph.D. programme may be considered. Teacher Education Certificate or PGDE is compulsory.
B. NON-TEACHING STAFF 1. ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
The Candidate must possess:
i. An MPhil or a two-year full-time research Master’s degree in the relevant field. Candidates with a one-year full-time Master’s degree in the relevant field, in addition to a final professional certificate and membership of any of the following major and recognised Professional Accountancy Bodies or their equivalents may be considered:
- Institute of Chartered Accountants-Ghana (ICAG)
- Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
ii. Candidates with any two of the above qualifications, must in addition have a minimum of two years relevant post-qualification experience in a University/College of Education or a recognised institution or in a practicing firm or industry or commerce for a minimum of two years.
2. TRANSPORT OFFICER Duties
i. General administration of the Transport Section with the responsibility for repairs, maintenance and smooth running of the College’s fleet of vehicles. ii. Responsibility of training, efficiency and discipline of subordinate staff.
iii. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the College
Qualification
i. Relevant Bachelor’s Degree and other relevant qualifications awarded by a recognised institution. And either
a. Must be a confirmed officer with not less than six (6) years cumulative and satisfactory service as Principal Assistant Transport Officer in a recognised institution.
Or
b. Have at least fifteen (15) years post-qualification relevant working experience in a recognised institution.
And
- Show clear evidence of ability to hold a schedule and have the ability to train staff.
- In all cases, candidate must be computer proficient.

Certificates Evaluation Reports from GTEC (this could be in process as the recruitment process goes on and would have been received before appointment date to the position. Evidence such as receipt of payment for the application for the report should be included in the application pack at the time submission).
v. Sealed recommendation letters from two (2) referees cited in the Curriculum Vitae with one coming from immediate supervisor
